Posing While Painting

Some DIY projects are fun, some are not.  Some you don’t mind doing, some make you want to poke your eye out.  Brad and I have been painting the trim on the outside of our house and I’ll let you decide which category this project falls under.  I was dreading it and putting it off, so Brad just marched his hiney into the garage, pulled out the painting equipment and got to it.  He even picked out the color and bought the paint!  I had to approve though, of course, because I have final say when it comes to cosmetic work and decor.  That’s the deal, pickle.

So this past weekend, he was hard at work when I snapped this picture of him.

As soon as I took it, he said, “that was probably not a flattering angle, was it?”  “Um, no honey, it’s pretty bad.”  So we tried it again.

That’s better.  By the way, do you like the color we are painting?  We thought the taupe/grey/brown was more subtle and blended with the brick better than the cream.  We don’t have the best brick color to work with so we are doing our best to make it look better.

I guess what goes around does indeed come around because when I was painting with the roller brush, Brad picked up the camera to take a shot.

I tried to look cool without it being obvious that I was trying, but he said it didn’t work.  He suggested we try again.

If you’ve ever painted a ceiling or something over your head, you know my smile is totally fake.  But the goal was to look better than Brad in his pose-while-painting picture.

Then he said, “give me your sexy look.”

Haha!  That’s just scary.  Clearly I’m not model material.  But hey, you gotta make painting house trim fun somehow, right?  We got the front of the house done and around the sides to the fence.  I guess this weekend’s agenda has “paint the back” on it.  Probably in big, bold letters because we want to be done with this chore.
