Organization Nation has struck again. This picture below is what one of my bathroom cabinets looked like before the cleaning fairy made a visit a few weeks ago.
You may be thinking “that ain’t so bad” or if you’re not from a hick-town, “Katy, your under counter area in your restroom seems adequately tidy” (that’s what I figure nonhicks talk like anyway). But adequate just wasn’t cutting it for this organization guru, so when I spotted this $9 kitchen utensil holder at Marshalls, I said ”yee haw”.
And by ’yee haw’ I mean that I bought it to tidy up the mess in my cabinets. I had seen a picture before of pvc pipe used to store curling irons and their cords, but the process of buying pipe, having Kyle cut it and then hang it seemed too complicated once I found the silverware holder.
So I scrapped the pvc idea and went with my Marshalls find. I must have had a wild hair that day because I cut off the warning tags on my straightener, curling iron and blow dryer. Rebel.
Then I tied up all the cords to a reasonable length because surprisingly, I’m not Rapunzel and don’t need 14 feet of cord to do my hair.
Thankfully, I only have 3 hair things so they fit splendidly in my basket intended for forks, spoons and knives.
Check out how nice and clean it is now! Plus, it has turned out to be even more convenient than I guessed it would be. I just grab my hair utensil cart in the morning, use what I need and then set it back in there when I’m done.
Pssst… my cabinets are NOT that color anymore! The doors are not finished yet so they are in the garage patiently waiting on me. I’m going to finish them this weekend so I hope to post COMPLETED master bathroom pictures next week. But don’t count on it because I have a rough time finishing projects. Unlike Melody. How does she do it?
